I’ve been working in online media since mid-1990s, when I was first introduced to HTML. When I attended the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley I focused on Multimedia production. I have been working as a full time freelance web designer and multimedia producer for over two years, and have worked with dozens of media and art independents, film productions and companies, small businesses, consultants and organizations across the Bay Area and around the US. The Primary Voice was another project from the Advanced Multimedia class. This was a group project which was made during the Presidential campaign, and compared how the three candidates were using the voices. This flash project features a time line of the campaign and a series of video clips of the candidates and audio clips of an analysis by a voice coach.
The reporting and audio recording was made by my two group members. I was in charge on the technical side of the Flash programming and audio and video implementation, as well as the graphic design.
www.shimrit-berman.com, v.01 is the first version of this website.
It is a simple HTML / CSS hand coded from scratch. The idea behind the choice to make a static HTML site was to demonstrate that websites don’t have to be complicated, and that creative ideas can be achieved even with simple tools.
The website also incorporates flash elements, like the banner, which was programmed and graphically designed by me and is made of pictures from my personal photo albums, as well as a special flash navigation for the graphic arts resources area.
Hapoel Jerusalem wins the 2008 State Cup: Hapoel Jerusalem is one of the biggest basketball teams in Israel and where I started my online career. I managed the team’s website in the years 1995 – 2000 and since then I have been contributing in writing and editing on occasion. This is a special flash project I designed for them in 2008 after the team played an outstanding series to win Israel’s state cup.
It is an interactive flash treatment to a collection of articles and columns, divided by subject into four “quarters”. There was also an accompanying simple HTML version for the project.
